The campaign to install Table Mountain in Cape Town as one of the 'New 7 Wonders of the World' has moved up a notch with new social media activities and ambassadors climbing on board to support the cause.
The campaign has been running for over a year now and Table Mountain has made it into the top 28 sights, from which the final seven will be chosen. The South African attraction is, however, in the bottom 14 and currently needs about 30 million votes to win.
To bolster excitement about the competition and gain more votes, a new website http://www.votefortablemountain.com/ has been launched and Twitter, Facebook and Flickr campaigns have been started.
Celebrity ambassadors on board so far include Desmond Tutu, Soli Phillander, Kia Johnson (presenter of Expresso, SABC3) and Carol Thorns and her band, Coda.
